Important Note: Volunteer opportunities primarily happen at events and until events return, and it is safe for everyone, most volunteering is on hold. That being said, it is a great time to get volunteers started with the process, getting their documents in order, and completing virtual volunteer training for our Suite Ambassador program.
Zoom Pals: This project offers a unique opportunity to connect community members from the Kerby Centre and children/youth currently involved with our partner agencies. Through these connections, virtual friendships form, fostering a sense of belonging and inclusion, while sharing kindness.

Big Brothers Big Sisters
“Social Isolation doesn’t have to mean Emotional Isolation. Kids need our support now more than ever. Volunteer and #IgnitePotential “
At BBBS, we know that the children and youth we serve were already vulnerable before this crisis started, and now they are experiencing new feelings of fear, loneliness, and anxiety, not to mention the risk of increased financial strain, violence, and substance abuse in the home. Our focus is still on building mentoring relationships and improving social emotional learning in order to build resilience, which is needed more than ever. We are also continuing to engage with those people who have expressed an interest in volunteering as mentors – this is so important as we have more than 350 young people who are already waiting for mentors and we fully expect even more youth, families, and caregivers to seek out support after we get through this prolonged period of social isolation.
Join the #BIGGERTOGETHER movement and become a mentor today!
