We are seeking a Grant Writer for a Calgary Tech start-up. Duties include submitting grants, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance when funding requirements are met.  Location is negotiable, however, a preference is given to those that can work in the office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research, write, prepare, and submit 2-3 strong grant proposals a month
  • Manage grant calendar, track deadlines and the process of applications
  • Plan and oversee the grant process from commencement to submission of full proposals
  • Tracking and updating reports, spreadsheets, and other systems to report to management
  • Manage a pipeline of grants from various provincial and federal agencies for various projects internally
  • Point of contact for existing grants and funding partnerships
  • Ensure grant, donor and gift information are up to date and accurate
  • Filing reporting documentation for grants

Prerequisites:

  • 2+ years of technical writing experience, excellent writing skills with formal or informal
  • Previous grant writing experience for start-ups or research organizations
  • Ability to research and understand documentation
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to flourish with minimal guidance
  • Ability to manage complex projects and multi-tas
